Elfriede Lorenz Hall is my former mother-in-law, and because I wasn’t a knitter at the time, I didn’t recognize what went into the handknit set she made for her grandson James a few years ago.
Once the light bulb went off (i.e. I became a knitter myself), I started sending her yarn and suggestions. She doesn’t knit for herself anymore, but she has made some wonderful things for James.
She knit these hats and mittens up from two skeins of Shetland wool.
And this hat is from some complementary colors of Tahki Kashmir. Thanks, Elfriede!
