Picking up the sticks

Okay, so I packed four knitting projects for a weeklong trip. Here’s the deal. Two of them are Christmas presents, and one of them will be made on-site at my parents’ house as a non-surprise gift. So really, only one is for me.

It’s cool and foggy here, and pouring rain at our ultimate destination. So maybe I should pack some really hefty yarn for extra traction.

We’re still figuring out the puzzle of where the kids should sit in the van, if we decide to use the computer as a DVD player during the drive. Where it would go best is where the baby is now, and moving him creates a myriad of other problems. Being able to show a movie during an all-day trip would make people feel better, but at this point we’re not sure how to make it work. The puzzle pieces all look too big to me. But I’ll let you know how it all works out.

By the way, are there any other For Better or Worse fans out there? Is anyone else wondering where Weed and Karlene are right now, and if Michael will get back in time? Today’s strip is at www.fborfw.com/strip_fix.

Welcome to the land of chocolate sheep!

I decided to close out my old site at www.wicrafter.com and start up just a blog through WordPress.com. This is it! The name comes from an idea I had for a knitting/spinning store in Stevens Point, which would also sell coffee and chocolate.

Now that we’re going to be moving to Jefferson County, of course, I won’t start that store. At least, not here and now. Maybe someday, and there.

Mr. Beth started his new job in Fort Atkinson today, we’re taking a week off to celebrate Christmas, and then we’re into the new routine until we sell the old house and buy a new one: me as a single mom of four during the week, when hubby stays with his parents in Milwaukee, then a happy house-rehabbing couple on the weekends. Probably until the end of the school year. At least, that’s the plan.

It should be pretty stressful, so I’m looking forward to a lot of knitting. :)
